The Trust provides bursaries for those travelling in order to take part in Christian service of a practical nature. Within these parameters the Trustees will consider all applications received, but further information is provided below in order that both applicants and donors are aware of the Trustees' current policy concerning the funds of the Trust.

  • The Trust will contribute only to the costs of travel, not to any other aspects of a project.
  • No geographical limits apply.
  • The work involved should always have a Christian component. Applicants will normally be expected to be committed Christians and the projects involved to have Christian objectives.
  • Normally applicants will be from the UK and, although there is no upper age limit, preference will be given to those aged under 25. The minimum age will be 18.
  • The work should always have a long term aspect to it i.e. either the individual will be intending to work for two years or, as in most cases, he or she will be contributing for a shorter time to a project lasting at least two years.
  • Preference will be given to those who provide some of the costs of their participation themselves. Not more than 75% of the travel costs will be provided by the Trust and amounts awarded will reflect the length of service offered.
  • The minimum period will normally be one month and no more than two people from the same project team will be supported.
  • The travel so funded should normally be undertaken by the most direct and economical route, bearing in mind considerations of cost, time and safety.
  • Preference will normally be given to those who are embarking on a journey of a personally "stretching" nature e.g. involving travel to a new destination for them or to a personally demanding assignment.
  • Funding will not normally be provided by the Trust to an individual for travel to the same destination on more than one occasion.
  • A written report from each beneficiary of the Trust will be expected after completion of the assignment.

Each applicant must fill in the application form and return it to the secretary by post or e-mail.
